To Market, To Market… Third time lucky!

To Market, To Market… Third time lucky!

We’re very excited to be getting ready for our first Cactus Revival markets at Little Beauty and Emu Plains!

With a couple of false starts due to poor ground conditions from all the rain, we’re setting our sights on 10th December at Little Beauty Market in Frankston, and 17th December at Emu Plains Market in Balnarring.

As part of the preparations, I’ve been sewing a ground rug with used coffee sacks from the generous people at Commonfolk café in Mornington. Sara and I haved loved meeting at Commonfolk during the planning stages of Cactus Revival. At times, it became like our second home! It felt like I was sewing a ball gown made from hessian as there was so much fabric! I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I’m pretty happy with the result.

I’ve also made some Cactus Revival bunting for our stall from second-hand fabric and ribbon and I love the colour combination.

Next up is sewing a giant felt cactus for you, our Cactus Community, to stuff with old kids’ clothes needing some TLC…

Have you got some kids’ clothing lying about the house that needs mending but you just don’t know how, or have the time, to do it? Bring it along to one of the above markets, donate it to Cactus Revival and we’ll repair it and re-launch it into the market!
